My name is Christal.
I am 47 yrs old, the mother of 4 adult children and the grandmother of 1 precious little boy.
I am married to a wonderful man who is very supportive and brings joy into my life.
I am originally from Michigan. I moved to Tennessee when I was 19 after my first child was born and lived there until 2015 when my husband and I moved to South Carolina.
I love to cook, sew, woodwork, read, write, play video games, sing/listen to music and garden (not in that order; I usually mix it up all the time).
I am interested in becoming more active so that I can enjoy the activities that I think would be fun but cannot enjoy because I am out of shape which is what this site is about.
I hope you will join me in my journey, whether to be supportive, to understand that you are not the only one struggling or just to read something that I hope will be somewhat entertaining and perhaps enlightening or uplifting and motivational.
This is my home gym set up. This is not a large room but we are using it to the max so that we can get fit and healthy.
You do not need a home gym to get started - you just need motivation!
Motivation is the hardest part of getting fit and healthy so if you are trying to find a place to start, that's it! Try to find a support team/network that will help you get motivated. If it means a life coach, do it!
A healthier life is a happier life. Even if you are not depressed, you will feel better the healthier and more active you are.
Start out slow and let yourself build up momentum. Get active daily, a short walk at work, a quick stretch in the mornings when you roll out of bed, 5 sit-ups, pushups, jumping jacks, toe - touches.
